The spring is finally here! Out with the winter produce and in with the fresh spring veggies!
Today I want to share 5 of my favourite products and vegetables during the month of March:
1. Califia Farms Mocha Cold Brew Coffee
I am not an everyday coffee drinker but when I do drink coffee I love a cold brew – especially now that the weather is warming up. Before finding this product, I stuck with a Starbucks cold brew coffee with a dash of coconut milk (which I still get from time to time). While I was at the Canadian Heath Food Association show in February I tried this product at their booth and loved the mocha cold brew. Chocolaty cold coffee on ice is the perfect weekend treat!
Highlights: Soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, carrageenan-free, non-GMO, kosher, vegan, BPA-free
The ingredients are the following: Cold Brew Coffee (Water, Coffee), Almond milk (Water, Almonds), Cane Sugar, Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Potassium Citrate, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Sunflower Lecithin, Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum
Nutrition Facts for 240mL (almost 1 cup):
- 90 calories
- 3 g of fat
- 10g sugar
- 20% calcium
- 50mg of caffeine
Sugar content is slightly high, however I don’t drink this everyday. Overall, awesome dairy-free and soy-free cold brew that is creamy, chocolaty and super delicious!

2. Endive
Endive is a leaf vegetable that has a crisp and slight bitter taste. It’s a spring vegetable that may not look like much, but it’s loaded with nutrients like Vitamin A, fibre, potassium and magnesium. I am currently working on a featured post with all the details of this vegetable!
How to eat it: I love shredding endive and throwing it in salads!
Where to find it: Most grocery stores should carry this vegetable, especially during this time of the year. Winnipeg – Save on Foods and Superstore have had endive every time I’ve looked for it.
3. Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Mayo
I used this product in my last two recipe posts (Light & Healthy Chicken Salad & Creamy Broccoli Salad) because I’ve been so excited to find a healthier mayo option! It definitely should be eaten in moderation but the ingredients in this product versus regular mayo are much better. Organic ingredients in this product along with avocado oil instead of highly processed vegetable oil are definitely a plus.
Give this product a try the next time you need to use mayo!
Highlights: Non-GMO certified, dairy-free, naturally gluten free, and free from soy & canola oils
The ingredients are the following: Avocado Oil, Organic Whole Eggs, Filtered Water, Organic Distilled White Vinegar, Egg Yolks, Organic Honey, Organic Mustard (Organic Mustard Seed, Organic Vinegar, Organic Spices), Salt, Organic Rosemary Extract
Nutrition Facts for 1 tbsp
- 100 calories
- 11 g of fat (8g healthy monounsaturated fat)
This product contains healthy fats and a high amount of calories. Just like regular mayo, this product should be eaten in moderation but a better choice than regular mayo.

4. Asparagus
I LOVE asparagus! It is a spring vegetable which means it is super affordable these days (I bought 3 large bunches for $10 at the grocery store the other day!). Asparagus is an excellent source of vitamin K, folate, B vitamins, fibre, vitamin C and so much more.
How to eat: I love roasting asparagus with olive oil for about 12 minutes at 425°F. I also like boiling asparagus to soften the texture and add it to salads.
Where to find: Most grocery stores should have asparagus this time of year.
5. Primal Kitchen Salad Dressings
THE TIME HAS COME! A salad dressings with GOOD ingredients! 😱😱😱
Okay but seriously, salad dressings make or break a salad and the salad dressings from Primal Kitchen are super tasty and contain good ingredients. Yes they are high in calories like regular dressings however the quality of ingredients are far superior. The main ingredients in these salad dressings are avocado oil and organic apple cider vinegar. I’ve personally tried the Green Goddess, Ranch and Greek dressing. I use them on salads, the greek dressing as a marinade, and I love dipping veggies in the ranch!
