What I ate Wednesday (WIAW#17)

March 31, 2015 By Exploring Healthy Foods 7 Comments

It’s another What I ate Wednesday post! If you are new to these posts they are essentially everything you ate one day or a weekly round up of foods you ate throughout the week. Link up your blog post here to find other food blogs!

Breakfast

For breakfast I had whole grain waffles topped with fruit and agave. Agave nectar is a natural sweet syrup containing no added sugars. Pure honey and maple syrup are also great alternatives to regular waffle/pancake syrups.

I also had some passion Tazo tea! YUM!

Lunch

For lunch I warmed up some of my dad’s homemade soup that is loaded with veggies and barley. It contains a lot of fibre, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6 and protein. I also made a quesadilla using a whole grain tortilla, some veggies and cheddar cheese.

Snack

For a late afternoon snack I had a pre-made Mediterranean quinoa dish which was SUPER good. I also had spelt crackers that I topped with avocado and tomatoes.

Dinner

For dinner I had flax seed pizza which after opening the box I realized was a flax seed pizza kit. Meaning it came with 4 individual sized flax crusts and the sauce… good thing I read the box when buying it! :P But it turned out even better in the end because I was able to top it with whatever I wanted. I had some leftover chicken and green bell peppers which sounds simple but it was delicious!
I am looking forward to making some more pizza creations with the other flax crusts!

That’s all! Thanks for reading!

It’s always funny when you open a package and realize it’s not quite what you thought it would be. At least you were able to make some great pizza!
