If you’re like me, September is about pressing that reset button and getting back on track with healthy eating and getting back into a routine. Although my meals were always fairly healthy during the summer, there was definitely a lot of splurging and I lost track of meal prepping. But now that it’s September and things are settled down a bit, I am so happy to be back with meal prepping and getting my morning routine back in gear.
For me my morning routine looks like…
- Wake up (no snooze), jump in the shower for 5-10 minutes
- Then I take about 10-15 minutes to take my supplements and eat breakfast. I like to eat breakfast in silence and in the dark – I don’t know why but I find this very peaceful before the craziness of the day begins.
- Then I take about 15 minutes to brush my teeth, put on a bit of makeup, fix my hair and change.
By this time I still have a few more minutes, which is normally just getting my lunch together and making sure I have everything I need for the day.
When it comes to supplements, I only take what is recommended by my doctor since they know exactly what I need based on my blood test. For me, I take a probiotic and vitamin B12 in the morning, then vitamin D and fish oil with dinner. I’ve tried a few different brands but lately have really been enjoying Garden of Life brand from Vita Health. They have a variety of supplements as well as coconut oil, plant-based protein powders and more.
Garden of Life products can be purchased at Vita Health in Winnipeg. As I mentioned above, I recommend speaking to your doctor before adding any supplements to your diet. This post is to share this brand of supplements that I have been liking in case you are in the market for a new supplement brand. If you are not, they have a variety of other products as well. Below I will share a little bit more about some of the products Vita Health provided me with. Garden of Life does have more products then what is shown below so definitely check out Vita Health if you are looking for something not shown below!
Garden of Life Organic Spray
- Vitamin C (Orange-Tangerine flavour)
- Vitamin C (Cherry- Tangerine flavour)
- Vitamin B12 (Raspberry flavour)
Each spray contains organic fruits and vegetables that help absorption of the vitamin. These sprays are vegan, gluten-free and contain no GMOs. They also taste good, which always helps when having to take a supplement.
Men’s Once Daily & Women’s Once Daily Multivitamin
These multivitamins are targeted for your body, age and life (they also carry a 40+ multivitamin for men and women). They contain 15+ vitamins and minerals along with organic fruits and vegetables to help with absorption.
These multivitamins are certified organic, vegan, gluten-free and contain no GMOs.
Vitamin D
This vitamin D is RAW meaning it is unheated (not heated above 114°F), untreated (no preservatives or chemicals), unadulterated (no filters, no binders non-pasterized). This product is dairy-free and vegetarian.
Dr. Formulated Probiotics Once Daily for Women
My favourite supplement that my doctor has recommended for me has been a daily probiotic. I was on antibiotics for a long time because of acne and it destroyed my digestive tract. Daily probiotics have really helped rebuild and maintain a good digestive tract. I have tried a couple over the years and really like this one!
Virgin Coconut Oil
I use coconut oil in so many recipes and also use it on my skin to get the softest skin! It’s so versatile and this coconut oil is a good one.
Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder
I love the chocolate protein powder – I like to add it with coconut milk and frozen bananas for a simple yet super nourishing smoothie bowl.
I would love to know in the comment section if you’ve ever tried any products from Garden of Life. Be sure to check out Vita Health for Garden of Life products in Winnipeg.
