Tzatziki is a traditional Greek sauce that has a tangy flavour with a yogurt-base and a few fresh ingredients. I first posted this recipe with my Veggie Greek Wrap recipe but thought it deserved it’s own post because it’s a super easy dressing that goes with many recipes!
How to eat Tzatziki
Tzatziki can be used as a dip, spread or dressing.
- Traditionally added to gyros
- Spread on grilled meat or falafels
- Dipped with pita chips or raw vegetables (great appetizer)
- Dressing for mediterranean salads (lentil salad, tabbouleh, etc.)
- Served over grilled vegetables

How to make
Begin by cutting the ends off the cucumber, slice it in half and remove the seeds with a spoon or melon baller.
Finely grate cucumber with skin on (yes your hand will probably hurt! and be careful not to grate your fingers!). Place grated cucumber in cheese cloth.
Squeeze out excess moisture over sink or small bowl. Discard the liquid.
Add strained cucumber, yogurt, garlic, dill, olive oil and lemon juice to a small bowl and mix until well combined.

Ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 1 cup plain yogurt (regular or coconut yogurt)
- 2 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Juice from half a lemon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Cut the ends off the cucumber, slice it in half and remove the seeds with a spoon or melon baller. Finely grate cucumber with skin on. Place grated cucumber in cheese cloth and squeeze out excess moisture.
- Add strained cucumber, yogurt, garlic, dill, olive oil and lemon juice to a small bowl and mix until well combined. Enjoy right away or store in sealed jar for 3 days.
